General Questions

What Is Mobile Car Detailing?

Mobile car detailing is a professional cleaning and reconditioning service that comes directly to your location. We bring all water, power, equipment, and premium products to your home, office, or anywhere in Fort Lauderdale so you get dealership-quality results without leaving your driveway.

Unlike a traditional car wash where you wait in line and drive through an automated tunnel, mobile detailing is a hands-on process performed by trained professionals. Every surface is cleaned, conditioned, and protected by hand using Chemical Guys products and professional-grade tools.

Mobile detailing saves you time, delivers better results than automated washes, and eliminates the risk of swirl marks caused by dirty tunnel brushes. See our full list of car detailing services in Fort Lauderdale.

The process is simple: choose your package, tell us your vehicle type and location, and pick a date. We handle the rest. Our mobile unit is completely self-contained, so you don't need to provide water, power, or anything else.

Most clients go about their day while we work. We text before-and-after photos when the job is done, so you can see the transformation even if you're not on-site.

Pricing & Packages

How Much Does Mobile Car Detailing Cost in Fort Lauderdale?

Our packages start at $50 for a Quick Wash on sedans. The Fresh Start runs $80-$110, and the Complete Clean runs $130-$160. Pricing varies by vehicle size — sedans, SUVs, and trucks each have separate rates.

Every package includes a professional hand wash, tire and rim cleaning, and window cleaning. Higher-tier packages add services like tire dressing, dashboard and console detailing, trunk cleaning, and fender well cleaning. View all packages and compare features on our pricing page.

We also offer individual add-on services like car waxing, clay bar treatment, and leather conditioning that can be added to any package for targeted protection.

Do You Offer Discounts for Regular Customers?

Yes, we value loyal customers and run seasonal promotions throughout the year. We offer special pricing for clients who schedule recurring appointments and periodic discounts on popular packages. Contact us at 754-215-2272 to ask about our current promotions and repeat customer benefits.

Scheduling regular details every 3-4 months is the best way to maintain your vehicle's appearance and protect your investment. Consistent customers often see their vehicles hold more resale value because paint, leather, and trim stay in better condition over the years.

We also appreciate referrals. When you send friends or family our way, ask us about referral benefits when you book your next appointment.

Services

What Is Included in a Full Detail?

A full detail includes thorough exterior hand washing, tire and rim cleaning with dressing, fender well cleaning, window cleaning inside and out, dashboard and console wipe down, floor mat cleaning, and a complete interior vacuum including the trunk.

Our Complete Clean package covers every visible surface of your vehicle. We use the two-bucket wash method to prevent swirl marks, clean each wheel by hand, dress the tires for a deep black finish, and meticulously wipe down every interior surface.

For even deeper cleaning, our Premium Refresh adds interior shampooing, steam cleaning, and door jamb detailing for a like-new transformation.

How Long Does a Full Car Detail Take?

A Quick Wash typically takes 30-45 minutes, a Fresh Start takes about 60-90 minutes, and a Complete Clean takes 2-3 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. Heavily soiled vehicles may require additional time.

We don't rush through your vehicle. Professional detailing takes time because every surface is cleaned by hand. Larger vehicles like SUVs and trucks naturally take longer due to the additional surface area. Vehicles that haven't been detailed in a long time or have heavy pet hair, sand, or stains may also need extra attention.

When you book, we'll give you an accurate time estimate based on your specific vehicle and chosen package so you can plan your day accordingly.

Do You Offer Engine Bay Cleaning?

Yes, engine bay cleaning is available as an add-on to any package. We use safe degreasers and controlled steam to remove grime, grease, and road buildup from your engine compartment without risking damage to sensitive electrical components. A clean engine bay also helps you spot leaks early.

In Florida's heat, grease and road grime bake onto engine surfaces quickly. Regular engine bay cleaning prevents buildup that can trap heat and mask potential mechanical issues. It also makes your vehicle look thoroughly maintained if you're preparing for a sale or inspection.

Ask about adding engine bay cleaning when you book your next detailing appointment. Call 754-215-2272.

Can You Remove Smoke Odor from a Car?

Yes, we offer professional smoke odor removal using deep interior cleaning, steam treatment, and odor-neutralizing products that eliminate tobacco and other smoke smells at the molecular level rather than simply masking them with fragrances.

Smoke particles embed deeply into fabric, carpet, headliners, and even plastic surfaces. A single air freshener won't solve the problem. Our odor removal process involves thorough carpet shampooing, seat shampooing, and steam treatment to extract embedded particles.

Severe smoke odor from years of tobacco use may require multiple treatments for complete elimination. We'll assess the situation and give you an honest recommendation during booking.

Scheduling & Logistics

How Do I Book an Appointment?

Booking is easy. Call or text us at 754-215-2272, or email contact@route95mobilecardetailing.com. Tell us your vehicle type, preferred package, location, and ideal date. We confirm your appointment quickly and same-day availability is often possible.

We recommend booking at least a day in advance for guaranteed availability, especially on weekends. However, we frequently have same-day openings during the week. Let us know your schedule and we'll find a time that works.

Visit our contact page for all the ways to reach us, or browse our packages to decide which service is right for your vehicle.

Do You Need Access to Water or Electricity?

No. Our mobile unit carries its own fresh water supply and all necessary equipment. We are fully self-contained, so we can detail your vehicle in a parking garage, office lot, driveway, or anywhere you park. You do not need to provide anything at all.

This is one of the biggest advantages of our mobile service. You don't need to run an extension cord or connect a hose. Our unit is designed to operate independently so we can reach you wherever your vehicle is parked.

All we need is enough space around the vehicle to work comfortably. A standard parking space in a driveway, garage, or lot is perfect.

What Happens If It Rains on My Appointment Day?

If rain is expected, we will contact you to reschedule at no charge. Light drizzle typically does not affect interior-only work, but heavy rain makes exterior detailing impractical. We monitor the weather closely and communicate proactively to find the best alternative time.

In South Florida, afternoon thunderstorms are common during summer months. We schedule strategically to avoid the typical 2-5 PM rain window when possible. Morning appointments tend to work best during the wet season.

We never charge for weather-related cancellations. Your satisfaction matters more than sticking to a schedule that won't produce great results.

Do I Need to Be Home During the Service?

Not necessarily. Many clients leave their vehicle in the driveway or parking spot and go about their day. We just need access to the vehicle. We will text you progress updates and photos when the job is complete, and we'll coordinate key handoff if needed.

Many of our Fort Lauderdale clients schedule service while they're at work, at the gym, or running errands. Simply leave the car accessible, let us know any special instructions, and we'll handle the rest.

If you prefer to be present, you're welcome to stay. Some clients like to watch the process and point out specific areas of concern. Either way works perfectly for us.

Florida-Specific Car Care

How Often Should You Detail a Car in Florida?

In Florida, you should detail your car every 3-4 months for optimal protection. The combination of intense UV radiation, salt air from the coast, high humidity, and frequent rain creates a uniquely harsh environment that breaks down paint, fades interiors, and promotes mold growth faster than in other states.

Quarterly detailing lets you stay ahead of the damage cycle. Each session removes accumulated contaminants, refreshes protective wax coatings, and conditions interior surfaces before UV exposure causes permanent fading or cracking.

Read our full guide on how often you should detail your car in Florida for specific recommendations by vehicle type and parking situation.

Does Salt Air Damage My Car's Paint?

Yes, salt air is one of the biggest threats to your car's finish in coastal South Florida. Airborne salt particles settle on your paint, wheels, and undercarriage, accelerating oxidation and corrosion. Regular washing and waxing creates a protective barrier against salt deposits.

Living near the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, or Hollywood means your vehicle is constantly exposed to salt-laden ocean breezes. This salt settles invisibly on your paint and begins corroding the clear coat and any exposed metal. Vehicles parked outdoors near the coast need more frequent washing than those garaged inland.

A regular wash and wax schedule is your best defense. Carnauba wax creates a hydrophobic layer that prevents salt from bonding directly to your paint. We also recommend trim restoration to protect exposed metal trim from pitting. Learn more in our guide on how to protect your car paint from the South Florida sun.

How Do You Prevent Mold Inside a Car in Florida?

Florida's humidity creates ideal conditions for mold growth inside vehicles, especially under seats and in trunk carpeting. We use steam cleaning to kill mold spores, thoroughly dry all surfaces, and apply antimicrobial treatments. Keeping windows closed and running the AC regularly also helps prevent moisture buildup.

Mold thrives in dark, damp environments — exactly what happens inside a closed car in Florida's 80-90% humidity. The areas under floor mats, inside seat tracks, and in trunk compartments are especially vulnerable. Once mold starts growing, it spreads quickly and produces musty odors that are difficult to eliminate without professional treatment.

Prevention is key. Regular interior vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and interior protection treatments keep moisture and organic matter from building up. Read our interior car cleaning tips for Florida humidity for more advice.

Tipping

How Much Should You Tip a Mobile Car Detailer?

Tipping a mobile car detailer is appreciated but never required. If you're happy with the service, a common tip is 15-20% of the service cost, similar to other personal services. For a $130 Complete Clean, that would be roughly $20-$26. Any amount is a kind gesture that shows appreciation.

Detailing is physically demanding work that requires skill, attention to detail, and high-quality products. When your detailer delivers results that exceed your expectations — especially on a vehicle that was particularly dirty or challenging — a tip is a meaningful way to recognize the effort.

That said, we never expect tips. Our pricing is structured to reflect the value of the work, and we're grateful for every customer regardless of whether they tip.

Are You Supposed to Tip for a Mobile Detail?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a great way to show appreciation for quality work. Many clients tip when they are especially pleased with the results. If tipping isn't comfortable for you, a positive Google review or referral to friends and family is equally valuable to a small business like ours.

The detailing industry doesn't have a rigid tipping culture the way restaurants do. Some clients tip every time, some tip occasionally for exceptional work, and some never tip. All are perfectly fine. What matters most to us is that you're satisfied with the quality of work.

If you'd like to support our business without tipping, leaving a review on Google or referring a neighbor helps us grow and serve more people in the Fort Lauderdale community.
